The Museum

The Ancon Museum is a two floor building, with a square as a lobby to the museum’s entry. It is called the "Archaeologist’s Square." The laboratory and the deposit of the archaeological materials were on the first floor.

Museum’s History

Ancon is one of the most important cultural complexes from the entire central Peruvian coast. Some archaeologists have not doubt in qualifying them as key sites for archaeological research. These reasons were the start to create a museum in Ancon.

Site Museum Board and Cultural Activities from Ancon

After a permanent and persistent work the Ancon Site Museum and the Archaeologist’s Square was opened on 13 February 1992. It was in tribute to the many researchers who have had the opportunity to dig in Las Colinas from Ancon.
